Hi, I’m Sam!

Hi, I’m Sam! A twenty-something wife, mom to one goldendoodle, self-proclaimed pastry chef and wannabe mix of Martha Stewart & Ree Drummond. When I was younger, I thought I would be taking morning walks on the beach in Maine with a cup of coffee everyday by my late 20′s but then I went to college in a small town in the middle of the Blue Ridge mountains. It was game over. I fell head-over-heels for the foliage, salty winter roads and the summer’s afternoon thunderstorms. During my escapade in the mountains, I fell in love with a business wiz and we have been taking on the world, side-by-side, ever since. After college, we moved to the closest city to build a company and a career and we are loving it. While I typically feel like I’m the main character in “Country Mouse meets City Mouse,” I make the best of it.

I love manicures, Cavit with ice cubes, taking photos of the goldendoodle and watching HGTV with the husband. I knit, scrapbook, write thank you notes by hand and bake a mean meatloaf. I also have a degree in college student development so I work (and live) at a university and supervise about 360 18 year-olds in a residence hall. It is exciting and exhausting all at the same time. With that said, I cannot wait to have our own place where I can plant flowers, bake doughnuts (and eat them,) have babies and relax without hearing students screaming in the halls or un-bunking their beds at 3AM. I torture myself with “Property Virgins” and looking at Craig’slist for homes-for-sale but I know the more we save now, the better the place will be that we get in the future (yadda yadda).

I initially intended on writing about healthy living (ha!) and to chronicle this adventure back into my skinny jeans however, my love for all things good (chocolate, baking cookies etc…) has led this site down a completely different road. My healthy tips will make appearances when I find meaningful healthy advice but in between, enjoy the recipes, photos and all-things-good in my life…and life in general.
Love, Sam
